A 180° -3dB hybrid coupler allow you to split an input signal equitably between the outputs with a 180° phase shift. The most common and frequently used components of this family are Magic tee, which use a waveguide technology and rat race coupler, based on planar technologies such as microstrip or stripline.

This 180° 3dB hybrid coupler covers the range 1700 – 2100 MHz and provides a great isolation > 18 dB. With only 0,5 dB of insertion loss, this product offers a good VSWR < 1.5:1 on its main line and can handle up to 50 W of power.

A 180° -3dB hybrid coupler is a 4 ports RF components. It can be used to split an input signal into two signals of equal amplitude but with a 180° phase shift. Furthermore, it can also be used as a combiner to combine two 180° phase apart signals.
180° -3dB hybrid couplers designed in a planar technology (also called rat-race couplers) are usually made of a 1.5 time lambda/4 of circumference conductor ring (i.e. 6 times the quarter-wave). Each port is separated by a quarter wave length.
These devices often are often low loss and VSWR, and show a great amplitude and phase balance.
